Steins Beer Garden & Restaurant is a New American Beer Garden featuring 31 handles of craft and import beers on tap.

We are heavily engaged in the Bay Area craft beer scene and our all-scratch kitchen proudly serves Modern American Gourmet Comfort Food from Executive Chef Eduardo Andrade.

***Now hiring barbacks with Monday - Friday PM availability. Some experience behind the bar is preferred but not required.***

Barbacks assist bartenders with opening, closing, and nightly tasks. They maintain clean bars, stock supplies, and support service. This role requires delivering excellent guest service, teamwork, and effective communication.

Applicants MUST be able to repeatedly lift 15.5gal kegs (160lbs). Applicants must be hard working, comfortable in a busy work environment and proactive. Lifting and changing of beer kegs will be expected. Be ready to work on your feet for up to 8 hours a shift.

This position is first in line for those seeking full bartending positions based on performance. We will train and promote the right candidates.

We utilize a direct draw draft system with all our beers and maintain bi-weekly professional cleaning for our lines. We currently only offer an entirely all draft line-up.

Our spirits list features an extensive selection of scotch and whiskey as well as larger known brands, and craft/specialized niche varieties of other spirits. We make 10 specialty house cocktails and offer seasonal cocktail specials year round. We also offer brunch cocktails on weekends and incorporate juices, sauces and pickled veggies from our all scratch kitchen.

Our bar staff pride themselves on being knowledgeable, experts at their craft and proud of the diverse and unique selection of beer, spirits, cocktails and wine that Steins offers.

Part-time hourly position starting at $18.75/hour + tips.

- Help bartenders prepare drinks.

- Maintain cleanliness and stock in bar and bar-related areas.

- Set up and label supplies.

- Clean equipment and perform opening/closing duties.

- Address guest issues, escalating when necessary.

- Collaborate with other staff members.

- Welcome guests and provide professional service.

- Answer guest questions and accommodate preferences, but know when to defer to a manager or supervisor if unequipped to help.

- Comply with policies and regulations.

- Perform other duties requested by managers and supervisors.

- Keep up to date with all changes in our food and beverage menus.

- Read all forms of communication from management and attend all mandatory staff meetings.

- Be able to carry up to 40 lbs. on leveled and inclined ground. Must be able to walk up and down stairs multiple times per day.


Certifications Required:

- A Cicerone Level 1 Beer Server certification within 3 months of hire.

- California Responsible Beverage Service (RBS) Server certification within 1 month of hire.

- California Food Handler certification within 1 month of hire.
