The role:

As a culinary team member, you will serve a proactive role ‘from the island’ to set FUSIAN up for success. your support primarily served on the prep island, will provide our team with the tools to provide world class hospitality and a consistent product to our guests daily. You will contribute to a positive team environment to run a highly efficient, focused, and detail-oriented restaurant operation. The culinary team is responsible for cleanliness, sanitation, food handling and safety standards set forth by the Ohio Dept. of Health, the Ohio Dept. of Agriculture and FUSIAN.

At FUSIAN you will work alongside the manager on duty to understand par + build-to levels to create, prioritize and execute food prep lists to meet the needs for lunch, dinner and wholesale sales. You’ll manage the food supply and quality served from the main assembly line, the 2nd fulfillment line, our wholesale operation and any catering needs, ensuring that our food meets expectations in flavor, appearance and quality. You will be supported and contribute to a team environment where we achieve together. You’ll work in an environment with no stove-tops, grease, or fryers that can also ensure no late nights or early mornings!

you will:
* maintain cleanliness of the serving line, dining room, restrooms, dish room, equipment storage space, food prep areas, trash + surrounding areas
* Maintain prep levels based on daily sales goals
* Learn to efficiently prep products according to standard operating procedures
* monitor food storage temperatures, clean + sanitize all prep areas and equipment
* maintain full awareness of FUSIAN’s menu, ingredients, dietary considerations and standards for food quality and appearance
* create + manage prep list, shift plan, check inventory levels
* foster food safety inside of every FUSIAN kitchen with proper protocol
* label all products by name and discard date, safe storage and handling
* use all kitchen equipment with care; including safe knife handling skills, maintain proper functionality of all major equipment; maki press, maki cutter, rice tumbler

Job opportunities as Culinary Team Member/BOH Team Member are generally offered as a part time restaurant job.

Prior experience as a cook, grill cook, fry cook, prep cook, line cook, chef, or restaurant crew member, team member or other BOH part time restaurant jobs is not required but preferred.
