Description
Cake Decorators are responsible for preparing, assembling, frosting, decorating, packaging, pricing and displaying specialty cakes, pies and desserts.
Cake Decorators are responsible for speaking with customers to create special orders, as well as producing specialty items to customer specifications. They will inform customers about bakery/cake/dessert products and services and may be called upon to offer samples to customers.
Cake Decorators may be required to utilize equipment such as mixers and ovens to complete their job requirements. A Cake Decorator may be responsible for innovation and creating new items, determining price points for items and keeping offerings fresh and seasonally appropriate.

Responsibilities:
- Preparing, decorating, packaging, pricing and merchandising specialty cakes, pies and desserts
- Assisting customers on the phone and in person
- Producing special orders and specialty items to customer specifications
- Informing customers about bakery products
- Stocking and rotation of all bakery products and supplies
- Maintaining clean, safe and sanitary bakery area and equipment
- May be required to utilize equipment such as mixers and ovens
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Outgoing, friendly, neat and professional
- Strong attention to detail
- Excellent communication skills to ensure excellent customer service
- Ability to solve practical problems
- Possesses basic math skills
- Strong organizational skills
Other Requirements:
- Requires standing, walking, bending, and/or climbing throughout the entire work day.
- Repetitive arm and hand movements; bending, carrying, and lifting
- Requires transferring product either horizontally or vertically of up to 50 pounds
- Weekend, evening, and holiday work required; flexible hours
Education and Work Experience:
- Must be at least 18 years of age
- At least 2 years experience in cake decorating preferred
