-Coordinate the timing of ordering and production schedules
-Maintains a positive work environment with fellow employees throughout the store
-Production of sandwiches, salads, entrées, catering trays, soups and/or other food items for hot and cold cases
-Counter work when needed
-Order and maintain inventory of all foodstuffs utilized in the department
-Ensure all prepared items are properly packaged, labeled, dated, displayed and rotated
-Ensure all foodstuffs are properly stored following all health-regulation standards
-Ensure that production is completed using correct measuring devices, proper handling procedures and techniques and all recipes are accurately followed
-Follow and comply with all procedures to adhere to safe and sanitary work practices
-Maintain food loss and spoilage sheets
-Fulfill customer’s hot-food order requests in an efficient, friendly and neat manner
-Keep the Deli/Hot Foods Department neat, organized and clean
-Train new staff in a thorough, complete and professional manner
-Help control department expense and minimize product waste
-Monitor equipment (including but not limited to: fryers, roasters, ovens, coolers and cases) to ensure they are in working order, neat and clean
-Expected to be familiar with the entire store and it’s layout to ensure top customer service
