A Day in the Life

• MAJIK is seeking an experienced Financial Controller looking to make a difference… A difference in the trajectory of our growth, a difference in the fulfillment and success of our 115+ co-workers, and a difference in the lives of our customers.
• The successful candidate will have 5+ years experience in a similar role and will be assisting MAJIK in creating and developing this role within our company.
• Responsibilities will include oversite of all financial operations – including day-to-day accounting, accounts payables, accounts receivables, auditing, payroll, budgeting, and reporting. Timeliness and accuracy are essential.
• Core Hours of work are negotiable (7am – 4pm, 8am – 5pm, 9am – 6pm, 10am – 7pm all would be acceptable)
• MAJIK current uses Quickbooks accounting system. Experience in Quickbooks is helpful but not necessary. Experience in some form of accounting software is expected.
• Partners with our leadership team to develop annual budgets by department and by store.
• Monitors and reports on adherence to budget, providing reporting as needed for decision making.
• Implements and continually refines profit and financial reporting for the organization.
• Learns the details of our profit-based bonus plan and continues to enhance and improve the program
• Through suggested program modifications
• Through ongoing analysis of store-by-store results looking for opportunities
• Through providing training materials to managers and all levels of the
organization to help improve understanding of our profits and profit based
• Monthly assist with closing the previous month financials prior to the 15th of the next month.
• Prepare & review the monthly Income Statement & Balance Sheet with the Leadership Team
• Prepare quarterly and year end financials.
• Prepare “What-If” Financial Scenarios to Assist with Decision Making
• Work with independent CPA firms on tax planning and forecasting

Position Experience

• Bachelor’s Degree in Finance or Accounting or MBA, CPA preferred
• 5+ years of experience in accounting or finance
• Strong Financial Management Skills
• Strong Problem Solving and Creative Skills and the Ability to Exercise Sound Judgment and make Decisions based on Accurate and Timely Analysis.
