This exciting opportunity to join our successful Il Fornaio - San Jose, Hotel and Restaurant Food and Beverage Dept. is located in the newly refurbished downtown San Jose, CA Westin. This location is poised for excellent meeting, social and local event increased sales.

The primary responsibility of our Catering Sales Manager is to develop existing business and solicit new catering business through lead generation and sales marketing while participating and overseeing the activities of the sales team. Strategic sales planning, setting and achieving weekly, monthly quarterly and annual sales goals is essential for success. Weekly BEO plus sales meetings are required. Direct communication and excellent relationship with the Westin Hotel Management staff is critical.

Daily duties include booking, selling, planning and coordinating events while assuring the highest level of guest service. Generating revenue, establishing new accounts, and booking repeat business while keeping consistent high quality is key. Participating in catering sales presentations and sales calls for both on and off premise events are an integral part of achieving our goals. Supervising sales staff and service in coordination with the Director of Catering.
Catering Sales Manager Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
* . Enhance and execute sales strategies, plans and projections.
* . Ensure activities are in accordance with the developed sales objectives.
* . Plan and implement sales programs for on site, off site and in restaurant venues.
* . Keep staff motivated to provide the highest standard of service.
* . Supervise Sales Managers and Administrative staff.
* . Assist Director of Catering with weekly, monthly and annual forecasts and budgets.
* . Meeting with guests and clients to plan and finalize contract requirements.
* . Solicit, negotiate and confirm new and repeat business through various efforts (outside sales calls, telemarketing, referrals, trade shows, sales missions, internet prospecting, other).
* . Build rapport and lasting relationships with prospective and current clients.

Catering Sales Manager Requirements
* . Degree from an accredited 4-year College or University with a major in sales, marketing, business, and/or communications preferred.
* . 2 or more years of previous Food & Beverage sales and supervisory experience; Silicon Valley experience helpful.
* . Self-starter with an entrepreneurial spirit.
* . Confidence to perform on an incentive-based salary and work independently.
* . Excellent customer service, verbal, and written communication skills.
* . Must possess a passion for food and hospitality.
* . Enthusiastic, energetic, personable, and friendly disposition
* . Enjoys working within a team.
* . Strong time management skills and practices
* . Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, Open Table, Micros, CTUIT, Gather is helpful.
