We are looking for an experienced Chef with an appetite for excellence, available to start immediately. The Chef will be responsible for preparing our daily selection of hot food and made-to-order menu. The ideal candidate will have a catering qualification, is experienced with a variety of cuisines and will relish the opportunity to work within a fast-paced and dynamic environment.

Foodhall is an exciting new food and drink market at the corner of Valencia Street and 16th Street in the Mission (one block away from BART). Located in a historic building that used to house a Wells Fargo branch, the space is exquisitely designed by London-based architects William Tozer. Foodhall aims to create a tailored and unique food and drink shopping experience for customers to enjoy and remember. Offering an impressive array of products from around the globe, we are looking for people passionate about food and highly motivated to deliver the highest standards of customer service.


• Maintains the highest quality, consistent product standards ensuring the food delivered exceeds our customers’ expectations.
• Ensure that all dishes are made to specification following company food recipes and procedures.
• Develop new lines of product in accordance with established schedules and guidelines.
• Responsible for ensuring that all required mis en place is completed for the following shift.
• Ensure the smooth running of operations, including monitoring stock, maintaining daily production levels and ensuring that guidelines are followed.
• Responsible for the ordering of food stock appropriate to food and planned production levels to minimise wastage and maximise sales.
• Responsible for effective storage, stock rotation and quality of all food stored in fridges and freezers.
• Responsible for completing stock take checks in a timely manner; deal with any potential issues and escalate as required.
• Responsible for ensuring that all goods received from external vendors is of the highest quality and to follow agreed process to reject substandard quality and
• Reports potential safety hazards to the manager on duty.
• Reports all employee accidents to the manager on duty.
• Informs the manager on duty of any operational inconsistencies.
• Able to train new kitchen employees.
• Works special events, as needed.
• Maintains positive company morale.

Prior experience as chef/cook/line cook/prep cook is essential to succeed at this role.
