The Back of House Shift Leader’s role is to support the Assistant Managers and Directors in the daily operations of the kitchen. Coaching and mentoring team members is a core part of this position, therefore a thorough understanding of coaching and executing the Chick-fil-A Recipe for Service is required. Must maintain a thorough knowledge of all food safety requirements.

Requirements/Responsibilities
● Understand the mission, vision, and values of Chick-fil-A Quakertown
● Embody the values: teamwork, personal excellence, customers first, humility, integrity, maturity, servant leadership, and continuous improvement of self and the operation ● Maintain expertise on all Chick-fil-A procedures and operational requirements via Pathway training, reading and interaction with other leaders
● Train and coach team members to use proper Chick-fil-A Procedures
● Understand and utilize the 3 step training method: Demonstration, Imitation, Repetition ● Ability to lead up to a team of 4 on a shift
● Complete weekly RQA
● ServSafe Certified
● Assists the Assistant Managers and Directors in enforcement of all food safety measures:
○ Proper hand washing(twice for bathroom use) and glove use
○ Employee illness policy adhered to
○ Proper hair restraints
○ Timers are in use to monitor hold times
○ Food is cooked to and held at the correct temperature for the correct amount of time ○ Food is rotated according to FIFO
○ All holding/cooking/refrigeration equipment is functional, cleaned and sanitized properly, and kept in good repair
○ Food prep and contact surfaces are properly cleaned and sanitized
○ Appearance of food matches quality control photos
○ Chick-fil-A recipes are followed

Success Measurements:

● Know when to ask for help
● All employees understand our hospitality principles and treat everyone with honor, dignity, and respect
● All employees are dressed appropriately for work with clean and complete uniforms, approved jewelry, and proper hair restraints
● All team members follow correct Chick-fil-A procedures, demonstrate thorough menu knowledge, and utilize proper product portioning
● All employees know and observe proper hygiene and food safety, especially hand washing, proper glove use, proper hold times and temperatures, and proper cleaning and sanitizing of equipment and food contact surfaces
● Taste of Food score of 80% or higher
● Ranking of 2 or higher on Food Safety Report
