Summary

The Brand Manager will report directly to the Director of Digital and work closely with Marketing and Operations teams, Franchise Partners and external agency partners. The Brand Manager is an integral part of the team, with core responsibility for national sales event planning, point-of-purchase merchandising strategy, vendor partner management, consumer and industry research and budget development and tracking. This position will work out of the A&W Restaurant Support Center, located in Lexington, Kentucky.

Essential Functions:


1. Assist creative agencies with conceptualizing, editing, proofing, and approval of national advertising materials to ensure they meet intended strategy, documented brand standards, and the needs of Franchise Partners. Advertising materials to include, but are not limited to: TV, Radio, Print, Menu boards, Merchandising, Digital & Social media content.
2. Responsible for the marketing plans with our beverage and industry partners. This includes managing the budget, working with the creative agencies, fully executing campaigns and actively pursuing new partnership opportunities.
3. Responsible for industry and consumer research as it relates to new product development, trends in the QSR/ restaurant space and new ideation in merchandising materials.
4. Responsible for maintaining internal timelines and budget tracking. Perform tasks related to data entry, data consolidation, updating Excel spreadsheets, coding, and processing invoices.
5. Assist with new projects that arise in marketing, including new technology developments, delivery/ off-premise focus and other in-restaurant and consumer-facing marketing projects.
6. Frequent contact with Franchise Partners and Operations Field Team regarding a variety of marketing tools, while providing excellent customer service to individuals on all organizational levels.
7. Assist with marketing program development, implementation, communication, and evaluation.
8. Serve as a brand ambassador.

Requirements/Responsibilities
Physical Demands:

This role is largely desk and computer focused. However, it does require some sitting, standing, bending, lifting, and moving boxes and other marketing materials up to 50lbs. This role also requires wearing and walking around in the Rooty the Great Root Bear™ costume on occasion. Additionally, all corporate employees will be asked to work in the company-owned restaurants at least four times a year for shifts lasting 4-9 hours. Standing, cleaning and fast-paced mobility is expected during work in the restaurants.

Position Type and Expected Hours of Work:

This is a full-time position. Schedules will fall between 7am and 7pm Monday-Friday, with some weekend and evening events required. Schedules are subject to supervisor and/or Company approval.

Travel:

10% travel may be expected for this position to participate in continuing education and job-related seminars of conferences.

4 day/3 night out-of-town trips up to once per month can be expected.


Required Education and Experience:

1. Bachelor’s Degree in Marketing, Public Relations, Communication or related field, sufficient experience will be considered in lieu of a degree
2. 5+ years marketing experience, including knowledge of point of purchase materials, and print coupons/promotional materials.
3. Exceptional personal computing skills including Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook; advanced Internet research skills.
4. Experience with analytics dashboards such as Tableau, Domo or other BI suites.
5. Must have a valid driver’s license and clean driving record

1. Restaurant and food service experience a plus.
