Seeking a Senior Estimator Procurement Specialist to support custom metal tube and hose fabrication projects in Sherman, Texas. This dual-role position combines precise cost estimation with strategic procurement management to ensure project success.

Responsibilities include developing accurate, competitive cost estimates and overseeing procurement activities to secure materials and services in a timely, cost-effective manner. A strong understanding of metal fabrication processes, materials, and blueprint interpretation is essential, along with excellent communication, negotiation, and analytical skills.

Requirements/Responsibilities
Responsibilities:

Review customer blueprints, drawings, specifications, and related documents to identify project requirements.

Accurately estimate costs for materials (e.g., various metals, fittings), labor (e.g., machining, welding, assembly), and outsourced processes (e.g., plating, painting).

Create detailed and competitive cost estimates for metal tube bending, forming, welding, cutting, and hose assembly.

Prepare clear, professional proposals and quotations for customer submissions.

Collaborate closely with sales, engineering, and production teams to ensure estimates are both accurate and practical.

Identify, evaluate, and negotiate with qualified vendors to procure necessary materials, components, and services.

Maintain and manage vendor relationships, including tracking performance and resolving issues.

Develop and apply strategic sourcing methods to optimize cost, quality, and lead times.

Monitor inventory levels and proactively address potential material shortages.

Keep thorough and organized records of all cost estimates, quotes, purchase orders, and related documentation.

Follow up on submitted bids and negotiate pricing with customers as required.

Stay informed on current material pricing, market trends, and procurement best practices.

Recognize and pursue cost-saving opportunities throughout the estimation and procurement stages.

Support ongoing improvements to estimation and procurement processes for enhanced efficiency and accuracy.


Qualifications:

High school diploma or equivalent required; an Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Business, Supply Chain Management, or a related field is preferred.

At least two years of experience in a similar role, ideally within the metal fabrication industry, with demonstrated expertise in both cost estimating and procurement.

Proven track record in estimating project costs for metal fabrication, particularly involving metal tubing and hose assemblies.

Solid understanding of manufacturing techniques, including metal tube bending, forming, welding, cutting, and hose assembly.

Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and specifications with high accuracy.

Strong mathematical and analytical abilities, with keen attention to detail.

Proficient in estimating software, ERP/MRP systems, and Microsoft Office applications (Excel, Word, Outlook).

Effective negotiation skills and experience managing vendor relationships.

Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Strong organizational and time-management capabilities, with the ability to handle multiple projects and priorities effectively.

Self-motivated and capable of working both independently and collaboratively within a team environment.


Preferred Qualifications:

Experience using Global Shop or similar ERP platforms.

Knowledge of various grades and types of metals and hoses used in fabrication.

Familiarity with quality control standards applicable to metal fabrication.

Professional certifications in procurement or supply chain management (e.g., CPSM, CSCP) are a plus.
