Reports to: Cook/ Dietary Supervisor

To perform duties for the Dietary department and to contribute to the infection control program in accordance with city/state and federal guidelines.
Specific Duties:

1. Serving residents, guests and preparing trays for residents as needed.
a. Keeping milk and meat separate when serving the residents according to the Jewish traditions.

2. Prepare meals per recipe and in accordance with city, state and federal guidelines and keeping with our traditions [ Kosher ].

3. Meet Scheduled meal time according to State, City, Federal guidelines.

4. Distribution of meals according to portions, specific diets, dietary restrictions made by resident, doctor or family request.

5. Making the meal appear appetizing through culinary art.

6. Monitor and record temperature of food served.

7. Defrosting of meat / poultry.

8. Documenting or dating food items. [Example: opened ketchup, dating leftovers and refrigerating.]

9. Responsible for daily upkeep of kitchen equipment, etc.

10. Attends in – services as needed.

11. Checking the temperature of refrigerators /freezers.

12. Follows cleaning schedule as per Supervisor’s directions.

13. Help prepare for tray lines. [Example: condiments, beverages.]

14. Set up sample plate demonstrating correct serving portions.

15. Performs other tasks as assigned.
