Reports to: Dietary Supervisor or Certified Dietary Manager
Major Responsibilities:

1. Communicate effectively with residents and co- workers
2. Serve residents, guests and preparing meals for residents as requested
3. Understand and follow Kosher Dietary Laws- Milk and meat separate when cooking for Residents/Guests/Employees
4. Set tables for each meal and complete areas as assigned.
5. Adhere to scheduled meal times- According To City, State and Federal guidelines
6. Distribute meals according to doctors order, portions, specific diets, dietary
restrictions or residents likes and dislikes and at various times family requests.
7. Follow Recipes.
8. Maintain and sanitize area after work is completed.
9. Prepare meals appear appetizing through culinary art.
10. Monitor and record food temperatures.
11. Defrost/refrigerate of all food items with date/time of items.
12. Understand and work on the tray line using measurements cups, ounces, lbs.
13. Date and discard of food items within the proper timeframe.
14. Attend in – service training as needed.
15. Assist in serving residents during meals.
16. Follow cleaning schedule as per supervisor’s instructions.
17. Help prepare for tray line as needed.
18. Lift if needed at least 25lbs.
19. Work alone or with others in a professional manner.
20. Work with the elderly and meet their needs.
21. Must be flexible of schedules and daily assignments.
22. Perform other tasks as assigned by the supervisor / cooks / CDM
23. Responsible for maintaining kitchen equipment.
24. Must be in good mental and physical condition and free of communicable diseases.
