The Café Manager is responsible for assisting and overseeing amazing service while executing our operating, product, and service standards at an exceptional level to make La PanotiQ Bakery Café the best cafe experience and cafe brand in the Bay Area.

In order to achieve this, the Café Manager is responsible for finding the right people, ensuring they’re developed and functions well, assists in ensuring the café is a financial success, and assists and executes corporate strategies and initiatives all while maintaining a safe and clean environment.

Ultimately, we want our guests to return to us many times and our employees to think of us as an amazing employer.

Building the capability of cafe team:
* Assists in improving team skills and productivity through coaching and performance management, training and development.
* Ensures crew members are highly functional; performing routine and management activities at a high level; assistants are highly proficient at routine tasks and handle many of management activities at an acceptable level.
* Effectively assists in hiring process by selecting qualified, personable employees and exercising good judgment to discipline and terminate team members when necessary (in conjunction with HR).
* Assists in reinforcing cafe routines and ensuring execution of operations standards such as training, cleaning, opening/closing,etc.
* Quickly and effectively resolving employee concerns and potential problems.

Building Sales and Guest Loyalty
* Ensuring service is exceptional and connecting with our guests.
* Ensuring proper staffing and skill deployment on each shift and weekly scheduling meets required labor goals/cost goals.
* Assists in managing systems (financials, inventory, baking procedures, training) and people (development, career planning) to ensure product and service meet LP's standards.
* Consistently executing marketing programs and implemented correctly.
* Ensuring appropriate company image .
* Manages and responds to guest complaints/feedback immediately, and appropriately.

Ensuring Financial Health of the Business
* Assists in executing sales strategies, tactics or initiatives to increase sales and executes plans to reach sales goals.
* Reviewing systems execution to ensure reduction in costs (preventative maintenance, safety, production)
* Executes strategies to ensure cafe controls costs (COS, COL, inventory,cash handling, paperwork,).
* Manages waste and comps to allowable goals. Diagnoses and fixes root cause to waste problems.
* Effectively analyze financial information and take a proactive approach to diagnose potential problems,and corrects systematic issues.
* Effectively utilize all resources available (HR Ops, Marketing, Logistics, Area Manager)
* Follows direction from supervisors on operational, financial and people matters.
* Follows all ordering processes from vendors.

Cafe and Community Leadership
* Being visible to guests and crew members
* Assists in continuously coaching team members to provide exceptional guest service and product.
* Assists in optimizing the efficiency of all store operations by managing service times, accurate labor deployment.
* Uses time effectively to complete duties without exceeding hours, realizing good life/work balance.
* Ensures that management is present during all peak periods and works schedule as assigned.
* Focuses on building guest satisfaction and employee satisfaction through effective leadership, leading by example.

* High school diploma, general education degree, or equivalent required. Previous cafe experience preferred.

* Positive attitude, friendly and upbeat personality.
* Good interpersonal skills, including professionalism in dealing with team members, the public and support staff.
* Good time management, planning and organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks.
* Ability to perform simple mathematical calculations. Able to exercise sound judgment. Able to read, write and communicate effectively. Computer skills are required.

* While performing the duties of this job, the team member is required to frequently stand; walk; reach with hands and arms and talk and hear.
* Will occasionally have to stoop, kneel, crouch and crawl; and use hands to finger, handle, or feel and lift and/or move up to 45 pounds.
* Specific vision abilities required by this position include close vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus.

Must possess a valid ID and be at least 21 years of age.
