Engages in hospitality activities with guests relative to purchase of food, beverage, and merchandise items. Acts as ambassador and entertainer for Company at store and off- site location events.

Pursuant to Department of Labor parameters, this position is classified as an hourly, non-exempt position. Compensation will hourly plus tips. Position is subject to all federal, state, and local wage and hour regulations.

Greeting guests (this may include working the door when there is no Host at the door). Suggestive selling of menu and merchandise items to the guests. Execution of food orders (entering orders into computers for transmittal to kitchen staff; taking the order includes "to go" orders, and may include working the To-Go position), bringing food to the table, checking back for re-orders, pre-bussing the tables, placing the check on the table, making change for the guest, and all other steps of Hooters Hospitality. Interaction and entertainment with all guests about menu items, including answering the phone. Entertainment may include having conversations at tables to facilitate the entertainment of guests. Participation of in-store and off-site promotions. Adherence to the Hooters Girl Image guidelines. Check patrons’ identifications to ensure that they meet minimum age requirements for consumption of alcoholic beverages. Completion of all side-work duties (fill salt and pepper, condiment replacement, paper towel replacement). Clean tables or counters after patrons have finished dining. Inform patrons of specials. Stock service areas with necessary supplies. Remove dishes and glasses from tables and counters, taking them to the kitchen for cleaning. Be punctual for all shifts and assigned work duties. Training and teaching co-workers. Working co-operatively with others in an environment of mutual professionalism, dignity, and respect. Adherence to policies and procedures of the employer. Other duties may be assigned.

No prior experience or training.

Ability to effectively communicate in the English language. Must be able to read and understand the menu, ticket writing, and a computerized register system. Must be able to suggestively sell menu and merchandise items. Must be able to communicate with guests in order to interact and entertain.

Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry-out simple instructions. Ability to deal with standardized situations with only occasional or no variables. Utilize judgment to access value, importance, or quality of things or people. Ability to communicate and assist with handling and resolving complaints. Must have ability to process information in order to prepare bill for patrons and carry-out monetary transactions competently.

Must attend Orientation and agree to policies and procedures as outlined in the New Employee Handbook and New Hire Packet. Must attend and successfully complete the Hooters Girl on the Floor Training Program prior to working a shift without supervision. Must successfully complete the Hooters Management Corporation required Alcohol Awareness Certification. Must be of legal age to serve, pour, and clear alcoholic beverages if serving. Must have state food safety certification. Must successfully attend and complete all other required training.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand; walk; use hands and fingers to handle, or feel, or carry objects, product, or controls; and talk or hear. The employee may occasionally climb, lift, balance, or stoop. The employee frequently is required to reach with hands and arms. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus. The employee utilizes computer point of sale devices.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to fumes or airborne particles from the kitchen. The employee occasionally works in outside weather conditions when on promotions or, where part of the facility has a station which includes tables located on an outdoor patio area. Also is occasionally exposed to wet and/or humid conditions, when in the dish area or walk in cooler, and sometimes uses toxic or caustic chemicals when cleaning. The noise level in the restaurant is usually loud.
